My name is Michaela and I am a hopeful applicant of the 2014-2015 CBYX program. CBYX is an international travel exchange program supported by the US Congress and the German Bundestag. This is basically a chance for me to travel to Germany and live with a host family for 11 months.. wait for it.. for free! It's an amazing opportunity that I just have to try to take advantage of.
At the moment, I am waiting on the answer for whether I am a finalist or not in the program. And let me tell you, this waiting is one of the most nerve-wracking and exciting experiences. As it is, I should know whether I will be going by late March or early April.
Even if I don't make it, I am still really glad that I was able to participate in this, and make it so far. Everyone I've met through the program has been a joy, always helpful. I can only not sit at home, talk with other applicants, bite away my fingernails, and hope.
